Charity evenings featuring such groups as Bigger Than Mary, Subtle or What? and The New Forest Rock Choir add to the contemporary mix, complementing more traditional music events such as Swing Unlimited, the Festival of Choirs, Romsey Male Voice Choir and The New Forest Children’s’ Choir.
Over the past few years the New Milton Memorial Centre has been building up a well deserved reputation by hosting band nights with local groups as well as well- known tribute acts and choirs. The Memorial Centre is growing in popularity and drawing in eager crowds with their ever popular Rock Nights and tribute acts such Soul of Santana, Bon Jovie, Aladdinsane (Bowie tribute) and Not The Rolling Stones – with promise for even more exciting acts in the future.
Rock Nights give a valuable opportunity for young local bands in the area to showcase their talent and show what they have to offer to the music scene, proving a hit with both the younger and older generations of audience. Bands such as Saints of Sin, Pirates of Panama and Western Sand have proved a big hit at the Memorial Centre!
Our monthly Acoustic Blues and Acoustic Folk nights are additionally providing local amateur instrumentalists and vocalists enjoyable entertainment in a relaxed atmosphere with the added advantage of a licenced bar – to which you are more than welcome to come along and play or just listen. And similarly, the monthly MUSK group (Milton Ukulele Strummers Klub) is giving beginners and experienced ukulele players alike the chance to play and expand their repertoires in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere.
