On the 13th February we saw the return of the Rock Night show case down at the Memorial Centre in New Milton featuring four diverse local talented bands: Daisy Chains, The Smokin’ Prophets, Pirates of Panama and The Black Bullets.

The Memorial Centre is building up a reputation for hosting a variety acts from tribute nights to charity events featuring choirs. We have already seen acts such as Dirty DC, Soul of Santana, Bon Jovie and TooRex with the promise of more tribute acts including Aladdinsane and Not The Rolling Stones, who are ones to watch out for.

We have seen local talent such as Western Sand and Saints of Sin previously featured on our Rock Night line ups. This time we wanted to make the showcase a bigger attraction by hosting a range of genres of music with four bands rather than our usual three. We had everything from funk disco to heavy metal which attracted a variety of audiences from teenagers to rock ‘n’ roll diehards; proving that these rock nights really do appeal to a range of people, and are not just for the youngsters!

Each band on our Rock Night 3 line up has already had a high list of achievements. With Daisy Chains recording their first EP, The Smokin’ Prophets heading out on their debut UK Tour, Pirates of Panama had just come back from touring with 80’s band Faster Pussycat and had also completed a mini tour of Hollywood, The Black Bullets also won “Best Rock Band” at Basingstoke Music Awards. It’s clear to see these young bands have something to offer to the music industry and bring rock ‘n’ roll back to its roots.

The evening was well received by a mixture of locals as well as people who had travelled from areas such as Newbury and Poole to see the show.

Our next Rock Night features the return of Saints of Sin who are headlining the evening, with support from Freeway Mad, Our Propaganda and Lip Service. For more information head over to our Facebook Page:
