At Heart of the Community
Unique Venue
The New Milton Memorial Centre is the largest indoor community facility between Southampton and Bournemouth with an audience capacity of over 350. This, combined with a well equipped stage area, makes it ideal for large theatrical and musical performances, dances, parties, wedding receptions, lectures and Conferences.
Flexible Facilities
We are able to tailor our facilities to your requirements. In addition to the main Memorial Hall, which has a seating capacity of 350 theatre style or 250 at tables, there are three further rooms, the Festival Room, the Hampshire Room and the Coastal room, together with a large foyer & bar, a kitchenette which complete this unique venue.
The History
On 26th of September 1920 the war memorial in New Milton was unveiled and the Recreation Ground given to the people of the parish in memory of the 83 Miltonians who had lost their lives in the Great War. The Memorial hall was built in 1930 on land purchased from the Unionist Club (now Conservative Club) by the Post War Brotherhood. It was used as a public hall and was very active in the 1930s with several local organisations paying rent for use of the building as a venue for their activities.

A on-going programme of live band nights, acoustic evenings, concerts and other special events, such as craft fairs and much more continues throughout the year, all with refreshments from our bar. Our Trustees

Neil Stevenson
I have acted as a Trustee of The New Milton Memorial Hall since 2015.
Born and brought up in New Milton, my family roots are in farming and growing in the area. Most of my career has been in horticulture supplying supermarkets with house plants from Double H Nurseries in Gore Road and as a director of businesses growing tomatoes and cucumbers in Sussex, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire. I hold an MA in Engineering and now work part time while pursuing my interests in gardening, cycling and travel.

Peter Parslow
I am Peter Parslow, a trustee of New Milton Memorial Centre since 2021. I am a Chartered software engineer, that is, an experienced computer programmer. My family worked for The Leprosy Mission in Bhutan and Nepal in the 1990s and returned to the UK and computing in 2000. We moved to New Milton after I got a job at Ordnance Survey in 2008, leaving in 2024. I now work voluntarily part time: running a couple of ISO geographic information projects, helping out at the centre, and as a mate of Morning Star Trust – sail training. I am an active member of New Life Church and chair of trustees of Counselling Together. I enjoy board games, kayaking, and travelling with my wife & our motorhome.
John Lay-Flurrie
At the end of my career as primary teacher, headteacher and head of district in the Midlands, we moved to New Milton 12 years ago.
As well as being an a volunteer adviser at CAB, I quickly became a supporter, and now ambassador, for the Honeypot Children’s Charity, and have supported the development of Milton Heritage Society, until recently as speaker secretary.
I have frequently attended events at the Memorial Centre and was a member of the management committee and volunteer barman until Covid struck.
John was elected as a trustee in the AGM in January 2026
Gary Byfield
